Dinger Leads From The Front At RA

BACC 2XI v Darlington RA Match Report (Away)

BACC 2XI continued their excellent start to the season with another fine performance against title chasers Darlington RA. Once again winning the toss Bishop elected to field. RA got off to a flying start with an impressive 65 from Rohan Sivajoti, followed up by a battling 43 from club coach Andy Walker. RA set a very competitive 171 before being bowled out in the penultimate over. Jacob Dinger led the way for Bishops with the ball taking 5/29 from his 10 overs of left arm spin as the visitors used seven bowlers during their stint in the field.

In reply Bishops got off to a flyer! Club legend David Taylor hit a quickfire 38 before falling to the off spin of the experienced Walker, but not before setting the foundation for man of the match Jacob Dinger to see the visitor’s home. The affable young Aussie really let loose on his way to an unbeaten 104 sharing a strong partnership with improving youngster David Robinson (32no) leading Bishop’s home for the loss of just one wicket.

First XI v Blackhall Match Report (HOME)

BACC 1XI remained top of the NYSD Div.1 courtesy of a comprehensive 8 wicket victory over Blackhall.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, on what was the warmest day of the season thus far, wickets fell quickly and consistently. For the 11.3 overs of the Blackhall innings, cricket was played like a TV highlights package with each of the 69 deliveries seemingly bringing either a wicket, a boundary or a dot ball. Nathan Rimmington continued his amazing start to the season bagging another impressive haul finishing with 6/32 from 6 overs and opening partner Ben Roosenboom finishing the innings with 3/38 from 5.3 overs. Josh Balls entertaining innings of 22 included 4 x 4’s from just 10 balls as 10-man Blackhall were bowled out for 71.

In reply Bishops chased down their total in just over 10 overs. Opening pair Jack Rutherford and Steve Chapman added 31 before Rutherford was caught behind for 20. Chapman hit 5 x 4’s in his 27no sharing a partnership of 38 with Matt Cowling (18no) to see Bishop over the line.

A respectful shout out to the Blackhall lads. Clearly their club isn’t where it would like to be currently, but their lads turned up and played with a smile and there was much socialising after the game amongst both teams. We wish them well!!
